Amazing

What amazing style and pacing!

Well done

Sometimes it wasn't as clear as it could have been, and it pretty much copied the pod racer sequence from Phantom Menace beat for beat (open field, small rock pillars, tight enclosed canyon, pirates taking pot shots, final two-person showdown) - but apart from that it was well done, ambitious, enjoyable, and an excellent piece of music.

Great, but...

Well done, once again. This series really showcases some genuine professional level writing. It's not just the usual low brow, ad-libbed, thrown together stuff you see so often on here.

That being said however, I must say that priest paedophilia and gay references are real bottom of the barrel stuff. I guess once upon a time it WAS novel and edgy, but these come about a year too late (if not more). They weren't even an original take, just a straight up carbon copy of the hundreds of times I've seen these 'jokes' before.

I'm surprised you felt you needed to put them in, as the rest of this was REALLY strong. I'm pretty sure you're a talented enough writer to come up with more original jokes than these, but even just removing them - I thought would have made this a stronger piece.

I wasn't too much a fan of the poop joke, or a few of the more in-your-face pop culture references but that's a lot more just my personal opinion.

---

Anyway I don't have much else to say, as you can pretty much pick anything else from it, and I either loved it or learned from it! Great punch line, and the backgrounds were particularly excellent. Well done, as always.

Jazza responds:

thank you very much. i get what your saying. truth be told i dont consider myself a writer by any means, and i think my strength is how i can draw from cliches, and yeah sometimes it is JUST cliche, but in other cases i think i pull it off in a defferent or original way. look at all my old crap, it's a boat i get very stuck in, i cant think on too many original ideas! but i think thats why i'm so at home making this series because EVERY character is an overendulged RIP on big cliche's. so yeah, it wont always come across as perfect, but nowadays EVERYTHING is cliche anyway so i'm just having a bit of fun with it.

i DO agree with what you said though, you are right. i wrote the script in 20 minutes and animated over 2 months, and i generally just write whatever crap comes to mind... i'll spend more time on the next script.

thanks mate!

Fantastic

PLEASE! Please release the music! Or at least tell us what it is! It is SO good.

Does everything a side-scroller should do. Smooth controls, easy to learn.
Engaging without being complex, though I don't mind a bit of complexity every now and again. Gets a little repetitive, but a great game.

Love it

I'm a flash artist who's always looking through the music archive for good stuff, but it's always so 'hands on' - this is exactly what I've been looking for. There are other Radio style programs out there, but this works so much better than them. I've been using it for two days straight now.

When it says 'Add To Favorites' does that properly add the music to ones personal favorites page? Or does it simply add it to the in-house playlist? If it's the second, may I suggest changing the wording to 'Add to Playlist'. I'm afraid to touch it at the moment.

Suggested Trivial Improvements:
- A back button, in case one accidentally skips forward
- The ability to rate the music (more helpful for the
- Ability to see description of music for context (even instead of a visualiser)

Super Important Improvements:
- I would absolutely fall in love with this program if you somehow added a 'More By This Artist' button, where it limits it to just the current artist's works.

I mean, here I am enjoying this song 'Celtic Celebrations', and I'm like "I'd love to listen to more by whoever this is - but alas, I only have a Randomize button at my disposal. Oh well..."

I don't know how hard that is to implement, but - I mean, you're already a legend in my books, but this would shoot you to historic level epicness.

Great concept, lacking a bit.

This game has a fantastic concept, great sound, and it controls beautifully.

Now for some negatives: The games main drawback is its lack of variety. Secondly, a life-bar for the bosses would be great.

Variety is truly the only thing keeping this from being a perfect game. Looking forward to a sequel.

Love it

But then again, I'm in love with all your music.

Tell me, is this an original composition?
Like, if you used this for a commercial project, would you be sued by Moby?

MrRedstone responds:

Thanks a lot for the review. Everything you hear was made by me using Reason 4 but the original song itself is by Moby. I kept the song arrangement the same but incorporated the drums into it. The original song does not include drums.

Ah! So close!

I was really getting into it, until about 35 seconds in. The synths are so off key, it just ruins it.

Such a pity cause like I said, I was really getting into it.

Missing one or two elements

Great start, in fact the song is fine it just needs one or two things to make it work. Some kind of melody, or another beat or I don't know, something meaty.
At the moment it's just a beat or two over the top of each other, it's a bit inconsequential. It doesn't build to anything and ends up being repetitive.

Also I thought the pacing was a bit slow.

It's a pity because honestly it's really very close to a great song, I can feel it.
